Grants for Teachers (National)

The Voya Unsung Heroes program (formerly the ING Unsung Heroes program) annually provides grants to K-12 educators utilizing new teaching methods and techniques that improve learning.  The application deadline is April 30, annually.

Grants for Research Programs in the Arts (National)

The Center for Craft, Creativity & Design will begin accepting applications for the Craft Research Fund on May 4. The Mission of the fund is to advance, expand and support research about craft in the United States.  The application deadline is October 9, 2015.

Arts Education Program Grants in California

Oakland Fund for the Arts is accepting applications for grants to arts education programs in the Oakland, California, public schools.  The application deadline is April 15, 2015.

Grants for Northern California Programs in Teen Health, Environment and Education

E3 Youth Philanthropy, a program of the Los Altos Community Foundation, is accepting grant applications for its 2015 grant-making season.  Applications will be accepted until May 11, 2015.

Grants for San Diego County Schools

The San Diego Chargers Champions School Grant Program is open for applications from San Diego County schools for physical education and nutrition grants.  The application deadline is April 24, 2015.

Youth Sports Grants in California

The LA84 Foundation is accepting grant applications for youth sports programs in Southern California’s eight counties: Imperial, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and Ventura. Special emphasis is given to Los Angeles, the city that hosted the 1984 Olympic Games.  The next application deadline is June 5, 2015.


Social Advocacy Grants in California

The McCune Foundation supports projects and community-based organizations that are addressing critical issues in Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties. The foundation makes grants twice each year for specific programs, general operating support, and capacity building.  The application deadline is July 15, 2015.

Legal Service Infrastructure Grants in California

Silicon Valley Community Foundation has released a new request for proposals for grants that focus on strengthening the legal services infrastructure which seeks to address the need for affordable and reliable immigration legal services provided by nonprofit organizations.  The application deadline is March 27, 2015.

Grants for Nonprofit Organizations in California

The Community Foundation San Luis Obispo County will make grants to support programs that provide significant benefits to the community within and across several funding areas.  The application deadline is April 20, 2015.

Environmental Grassroots Grants Available in California

The Strong Foundation is accepting grant applications for projects based in Northern California, including the Sierra Nevada and Central Valley. It may be helpful to note that the Foundation's definition of Northern California extends from the Oregon border at the north to the San Luis Obispo, Ventura, Los Angeles and San Bernardino county lines at the south.  The application deadline is September 15, 2015
